Nitrous Oxide

Sedation dentistry with nitrous oxide (typically known as “laughing gas”) is a very safe way of making you feel calm and relaxed for your dental procedure. Nitrous oxide is not addictive, is easily inhaled, and leaves the body very quickly. You may actually leave the office more relaxed than when you arrived for sedation dentistry!

Dr. Sheikh has been trained in Conscious Sedation and has been administering Nitrous Oxide to hundreds of his patients over the course of the years.

Oral Sedation

Oral Sedation Dentistry protocols have been used safely for over 30 years with millions of dental procedures. Before starting any treatments, we review your medical history and explain how Sedation Dentistry can work for you. We want you to feel good about going forward towards a healthy, new smile.

On the day of your appointment, you’ll arrive to the office with a companion and will be given a pill in the office. Our experienced clinical team will make certain that you’re relaxed and completely comfortable as we monitor you very closely while you are sedated. Most patients feel no discomfort whatsoever during and after treatment, and have little or no memory of the visit.

IV or General Anesthesia

If sitting through a slew of dental appointments is something you dread or don’t have time for, a highly experienced sleep dentist is for you — because the best dental visit you will ever remember is the one you won’t have to remember at all!

Our Brampton dentist, Dr. Azeem Sheikh, wants you and your family to receive the top-notch dental care you deserve, while you relax and feel at ease which is why we have welcomed Dr. Stephen Ing, a certified Dental Anesthesiologist, a certified dental Anesthesiologist with open arms.

Patients who feel very fearful when they come to see our dentist, typically want to just blink their eyes once, and then have all of the dental work completed– similar to a magic show. Well, that’s pretty much what IV sedation can do for patients like this. Many of our patients feel this exact way, but yet, they can still receive the dental treatments they need, solely with the help of IV sedation dentistry.

IV sedation might be best for you!

It is important to note that the treatment being done does not determine which type of sedation is used. Rather, the level of fear, anxiety, and phobia the patient exhibits is the sole determinant of the sedation method used. That is precisely why IV sedation is ideal for moderately to severely phobic and anxious patients.

After our patients receive treatment under IV sedation or under General Anesthesia with Dr. Stephen Ing, we advise them to not make any major life decisions for the rest of that day. We tell them this is because he or she may not remember much of anything when they leave our office after IV sedation, and this is typically normal when patients are under amnesia.

Be one of the hundreds of happy patients that Dr. Sheikh have transformed through sedation dentistry.
